A Spotlight on Mr. Alexis Dyer & his outstanding Mego Micronauts collection / display

Greetings, everyone! I’m 37 years old from Los Angeles, California. I remember playing with all kinds of really cool sci-fi, fantasy, and action toys by the time I was 7. My parents spoiled me rotten with just about all things MEGO back then…especially…and particularly MICRONAUTS toys because they saw how much I really enjoyed them above all others. In fact, I was so passionate about these toys while growing up, that I continued to collect them all through my teen years! Unfortunately, by the time I turned 18, I'd somehow lost every single one of my Micronauts due to circumstances such as moving to different addresses, switching schools, etc. Anyway, about a year ago, I rediscovered my interest in these awesome toys when I visited Dave Waugh’s incredible Micronauts fan-made website at www.innerspaceonline.com for the first time. I was so inspired by the fantastic images and amazing stories he put together that I decided to start collecting only the original, vintage Mego Micronauts action figures, vehicles, and play sets all over again! I've been buying them from people all over the world through eBay ever since ...and I've amassed quite a lot of this stuff in a year's time!

A few months ago, I designed and constructed a rather large, unique-looking diorama display table for the purpose of showcasing all of the Micronauts toys that I've collected so far. Based in part by “The Look” of innerspaceonline, it took me about a month to complete this project from start to finish. I was able to stay well within my projected $1,000.00 budget, which included the cost for all the art supplies and custom-made materials used for the entire diorama and ALL the Micronauts toys that I purchased through eBay! One of the interesting things about this display is that virtually all of the Micronauts pieces that I chose to acquire were in used/dirty/broken condition because I specifically wanted the challenge of restoring them to the best looking/working condition as possible.
And now - - thanks to the tremendous generosity of MegoCentral.com’s owner, Robert Acquarulo and Webmaster Matt MacNabb, I’m able to share all these photos of my collection with you today! I’m quite honored and humbled to have my Micronauts collection featured as a gallery spotlight in this terrific website, which has already been showcasing some incredible collections from Robert and several other members for some time now! I’m absolutely thrilled to be in such great company! This entire experience…from re-collecting Micronauts toys again…to this very moment…sharing and connecting with other MEGO toy fans has been quite satisfying, exciting, and enlightening to say the least! I’d be very happy to accept emails from anyone that would like to ask me questions about my Micronauts diorama display.  Here’s my email address: andorian_grey@hotmail.com.

Finally, please be sure to explore everything else that MegoCentral.com has to offer, and spread the good word to your fellow toy enthusiasts that may not be aware of this wonderful site! Enjoy my photos! Thanks for your time.

Sincerely.
Mr. Alexis Dyer
