The Mego Corporations Robin Hood and his Merry Men line included characters such as Little John, Friar Tuck, RobinHood and the tough to find Will Scarlett. Other characters are rumored to have been produced ( Sheriff Nottingham and Maid Marion ) but have never been discovered according to super collector John Bonivita at Megoheadtoys. A Castle playset has also been rumored to have been produced which shares the same fate as the previous two characters which have not yet been found. The Robin Hood line was released circa 1975 in window boxes in the United States, Austrailia ( Toltoys ) and also in Italy by the Mego Corps Baravelli distributor. No changes to the packaging were made by these distributors except for a small label which read their company name unlike some of the carded WGSH's were artwork varied depending on which company was distributing them.

The figures sported colorful costumes on type one bodies are are easily some of the most visually entertaining figures from the Mego Corps Legends line. No vehicles or playsets were released to date which doesnt cast a shadow on their demand by todays collector. A complete set of window boxes will run you close to $800.00 with the ever elusive Will Scarlett taking the lions share of the booty.

RobinHood and his Merry Men once again show just how far ahead of the curve Marty Abrams and his team were who dominated the action figure aisle for close to a decade. Not too many of todays toys will stand the test of time like these timeless classics.
