| Thank you very much for visiting MegoCentral. Let me first begin by introducing myself and sharing a little about myself. My name is Robert Acquarulo, and I've been collecting Mego figures and toys for quite some time. I've recently acquired this website from the great Laurie Halbritter who initially acquired it from Mego collector extraordinaire Sean Griffin. Since it's inception, it has gone through many changes, and I sincerely hope that my input will only add to the staggering amount of images and information that has already been established here. After enjoying the success of Megocon2004, a three day event held in New York City at the legendary Hotel Pennsylvania Convention Center, numerous collectors and toy industry leaders encouraged me to take on another project which would benefit the Mego community at large. The focus of MegoCentral is really quite simple. My intentions are to educate and provide collectors, from around the world, with the most accurate and detailed information about Mego toys available on the web. Much of it will be coming from collectors with years of experience in the hobby. Over the coming weeks and months we will be working around the clock, not only to create a fantastic website, but also one that will be worthy of both your time and attention. This is a great opportunity to get involved at the ground level and make MegoCentral a great place. We encourage everyone to share their knowledge and we will gladly credit your contributions to this site. MegoCentral is about having fun, which is what Mego collecting is all about. With the addition of a community message board, we encourage your participation in what we hope will provide you with hours of enjoyment. My favorite part of collecting has always been meeting and talking to people who share the same interest. This was one of the main motivating factors behind MegoCentral and our message boards. Although obtaining a new Mego toy is great, its sharing it with your fellow collectors that really makes it all the more special. I look forward to hearing everyone's collecting experiences and sharing my own. I've made some amazing friends through the years in this hobby, and I am looking forward to making many more. All of your thoughts and idea's are welcome, as we encourage you to contact us, and let us know how you feel about the new direction we are taking. Everyone that is involved with this project is very excited and we hope that our enthusiasm catches on. Although the new direction of MegoCentral is certainly exciting it doesn't stop here. Coming this January look for an announcement regarding a brand new project that will finally elevate the Mego collecting hobby into the main stream. As my good friend and Mego collecting Legend John Bonivita always says, Mego Lives! |
