Mad  Monsters
The Mad Monsters were released in 1974 and were issued in four different types of    packaging: solid boxes; window boxes; regular cards and the longer Kresge   cards. The window boxes are very rare.
These  figures came with unique glow in the dark hands and eyes. Unfortunately,   the eyes are made of an unstable material and often become melted and   distorted--especially on the Wolfman and Mummy  figures.
The   early type one monster hands have a unique sculpt, different from the   other Mego figures. These have metal rivets and splayed   fingers. The later type two with plastic rivets utilize the same mold   as most type two Megos (fingers   closed). The type two monsters are more rare.
Several   variants exist for Frankenstein and Dracula. Both were produced with two  different heads molds with smoother hair and slightly different features.   These variants were issued in both black-haired and whacky-colored hair   versions. Frankenstein came with blue hair, and Dracula sported a   red-orange Irish do. These are very hard to find.

Dreadful   Dracula
A very colorful   figure, isn't he? Dreadful Dracula came with a nice pair of shoes (same as    the Wizard from the Oz line), removable two-tone cape and a silk-screened   suit. A variation exists with red hair (see below). Also, two different        head sculpts exist. The other was used for both the red-haired Dracula and        another black-haired version.
He reminds me a        bit of the Tomb of Dracula Marvel character--especially his        suit.
Dreadful Dracula Head   Variant
The suit and body are the same but the sculpt on the head is  different. This is the same head used for the red-haired Dracula        variant

Dreadful Dracula Red  Hair
Here he is with red hair. This is the same head sculpt as   the one above. I will try to add some close up shots in the near        future.

Human  Wolfman
Perhaps they called him "Human Wolfman" and made him look   like the Big Bad Wolf so that there would be no copyright conflicts with   Universal.. He's still one of my favorite monsters. The Mego monster line  was quite eccentric.
Wolfman comes with low cut AJ boots (same as Frank) and a  fur lined top with separate pants (tights). He has different hands than   the other monsters in that these ones were molded with claws.
Horrible   Mummy
Like   the others, Mummy comes with glow-in-the-dark eyes and hands.        Unfortunately, many of the mummies and wolfmen have suffered from the        eye-melt syndrome. If you're going to buy one on Ebay, be sure to ask the        seller, "Are the eyes melted, please."
Monster   Frankenstein
Frankenstein  also came in several different variants. The blue-haired version below has  a different head sculpt with a flat top hair cut. It was also issued with   black hair
(picture coming soon).
Frank has an   interesting one piece jumpsuit that was made out of polyester top and more of a cotton pant and was later reissued with a different fabric for the  pants. His torso is divided by an attractive gold band and the jacket is        separate.
More variant        photos and better pictures coming soon!
Monster   Frankenstein
Here he is    again with a different head sculpt. This is the same head sculpt that is   used on the blue-haired variant. Notice the flat-top    hair and the altered hair-line on this  figure.
