Starsky and Hutch
Groovy man. The two cops are on the prowl for the bad guys. What they do with em when they catch em is a guess, since they didn't come with guns or handcuffs, but heh...they are cool man! The Palitoy versions did come with guns. Pretty basic figures, nice head sculpts, especially Captain Dobey and Huggy Bear. Only sold on Type 2 bodies as they were released long after Type 1s had disappeared. Of note is that bodies for Huggy Bear and Captain Dobey are NOT ape Type 2 bodies, but actually non-hairy hand versions. Political wisdom following the major blunder of the Type 2 Falcon.
| Starsky | |
| The man himself. The coolest crime cop in
Jersey. Actually sold with different types of footwear, but most of
them were sold with moccasins. This is a bit unstable, Chopper could
step on his toe and then run, but thats for the show. The alternate
footwear is boots like the Duke figures were sold with and has been found
carded wearing the same boots as Hutch (Mr Fantastic boots).
Also included a navy shirt and some groovy jeans (no buckle or belt).
| Hutch | |
| The second coolest cop in Jersey. Hutch has a
pretty cool head sculpt, used for several customs actually. Sadly,
not much more exciting than Starsky.
Comes with cool suede vest, hip yellow shirt (yellow version of the Peter Parker Alter Ego shirt), jeans and Mr F boots.
| Captain Dobey | |
|
A cool likeness of the Chief. He has a a great face sculpt, nice suit and really looks the part. He is the hardest to find of the series, but still not too expensive. Comes fully equipped with two piece suit and penguin shoes. Also has a white scarf underneath.
| Huggy Bear | |
| America's favorite little pimp. He is so Super
Fly it makes you want to go buy that outfit doesn't it? Great
nostrils, best in the Mego line. I would have loved a mini
switchblade or a switchblade-comb for him.
Huggy sports a cool denim jacket and pants, a pair of Penguin shoes and a checkered scarf.
| Chopper | |
| And then we come to Chopper. Worst villain Mego
made. The thing I hate most about Chopper is when people come into
my Toy Domain, filled with rare figures and some of the coolest things you
will find, they always say, "Who the hell is that?"
Thats right folks, its Chopper. Looks like he should be in a certain bar for the less masculine. The scariest thing was before I got some boots for mine. I mean, a guy in an orange and white top and navy tights is wrong man, wrong. Like Starsky, Chopper was carded with two types of boots (rumored to be even 3). Most common is the General Ape Boot version, next is the Soldier Ape Boot version and then the rumored Hutch/Mr. F boot version. Either way he is scary. I hate to waste General Ape boots on him so its Soldier Ape all the way for me.

The Starsky and Hutch Chase
Car (with Twist-out Action) |
| Ok, this thing is fly. One bad ass machine. How many of us had this bad boy or dreamed of driving it and chasing the bad guys across Joyzee. A very nice find, although quite a few were sold. |
