Welcome to the Vault! At this time, the Vault will include both rare figures and rare variants of figures. Eventually, the Variants will have their own page, but for now, this is what you get. These pieces are the hardest for collectors to find and you may not know that many of them existed.. Don't forget to check out Page 2 of the Vault! New! This page is graphic intensive so please be patient while it loads. |

Zorro 1977 This figure is super-rare and was made by Mego and distributed by Palitoy. This figure was based on the Disney Zorro tv series in the 1950s. |

Bruce Wayne, Dick Grayson Alter-Egos These dolls were sold exclusively by Montgomery Wards in plastic bags without bodies. The bags included the head, outfit and accessories. The heads were all recycled from Super hero heads and the Mego mark was rubbed off the back. The Bruce Wayne head is identical to the Removable Cowl Batman with the exception of the markings on back. |

Clark Kent and Peter Parker Alter Egos These are the other two figures from the series. Clark's head is a Superman head without the markings (as is the Don doll pictured below on this page). Peter Parker is a Shazam head with repainted blue eyes. |

Mysterious Astronaut Here's another rare figure, also with a "recycled" head. This astronaut figure has a Bruce Wayne head with blue painted eyes. Several of these have been discovered but I haven't seen any with packaging. Any information would be appreciated. |

Mighty Mightor This was a French-only figure based on the Hannah Barbera cartoon series. He's 12" tall and I want one. I'll trade you my boxed Waltons..... |

Don, Dinah-Mite's Boyfriend This figure is extremely rare and comes with an unmarked Superman head (like the Kent Alter-Ego), AJ baseball or football shoes (like Peter Parker), AJ motorcycle pants and an AJ spy shirt with the sticker removed. Photo courtesy of www.toyfanatic.com |

Dr. Kromedome, 1975 Another Montgomery Wards figure, this was their answer to the need for a bionic villain. I don't know if Maskatron had been released by Kenner at the time or not. He's a twelve inch tall figure and looks like he might utilize the same body as the Broadway Joe figure. |

Circle Suit Spiderman An early rendition of the Spiderman suit. Very hard to find. Perhaps it's not as authentic as the later version, but I like it better. Photo courtesy of www.toyfanatic.com |

Web Shooting Spiderman The Web Shooting 12" Spiderman figure was a variant of the 12" line. He came with a hollow arm that, with a special fluid injected into it, would shoot Spiderwebs. Other than that, he is identical to the other figures. |

King Kong, 1976 King Kong, one of the most underappreciated monsters, was honored by Mego with several toys in the seventies. This was only available in Japan. He's about 6" high with very limited articulation. Photo courtesy of www.toyfanatic.com |

One Million B. C. Hairy Rhino Very hard to find, this guy was made to go with the other figures from the 60s movie. |
Removable Mask Robin This was the first version of the Robin figure. Unfortunately, his mask is missing (it was very silly). This version of the costume has very yellowish green sleeves and shorts.. It also came witha pure yellow and a medium green. His head is like the Alter-Ego Dick Grayson only has markings on the back. Photo courtesy of www.toyfanatic.com |

9" Robin This was a Canadian release of the 60s style Robin. He's very hard to find, especially with his accessories. I'm looking for them, in fact, if you have any for trade. |

Fly Away Action Robin This is a very rare 12" Robin figure. Very hard to find loose or in the box. This came with flying apparatus that consisted of a cable and some other parts. |

Magnetic Robin Like above only with magnetic hands and feet. Many refrigerators were destroyed by these dolls, to the dismay of many parents. A better image with Robin's shirt pulled out of his pants is coming soon. |
Shazam Perhaps this isn't really that rare but I've never seen one with this variation in his costume. He has ribbed fabric on the legs only, similar to the cuffs. The other strange thing about him is that his head has no markings (similar to Alter-Egos), however, he does have the normal brown eyes. Some of the other early WGSH figures had entire costumes made out of a more ribbed material. Photo courtesy of www.toyfanatic.com |

Orange Haired Dracula This is a rare Dracula variant with orange hair. He also has a slightly different head sculpt than the more common Dracula. His eyes are larger and bulging. Also see the Mad Monsters Page. |
